The international Catholic agency, specialist in news about Asian countries, met with Maria Voce during her stop in Japan

At the conclusion of the visit of Maria Voce and Giancarlo Faletti to Japan, inspired from the fruitful, decades long, dialogue with Buddhism (meeting with 3,000 Buddhists of the lay Movement Rissho Kosei-Kai), the President of the Focolare granted an exclusive interview to the international agency, AsiaNews.
The relationship between Korea and Japan, ecclesiatical life, the tragedy of the division between North and South Korea, were some of the topics touched upon. But at the heart of the interview was the focus on interreligious and intercultural dialogue: “I believe,” Maria Voce affirmed, “that the encounter between Chiara Lubich and Nikkyo Niwano follows a divine plan related to the dialogue with Buddhism. I want, above all, to emphasize that we experience this flourishing dialogue as an expression of the dialogue of the Church with non-Christian religions. We engage in it as instruments of the Church. The relationship with Rissho Kosei-Kai promotes it.
